Rodeo Concert Announced

ALAN JACKSON TO PLAY MUNICIPAL STADIUM – Salinas, CA

Saturday, July 21, 2012 after the 3rd California Rodeo Performance

 

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  (Jan. 26, 2012)  Country superstar Alan Jackson takes his tour to Salinas Municipal Stadium in Salinas, CA on Saturday, July 21st.  Tickets for the show may be purchased starting on Wednesday February 8th at 10am from the Salinas Sports Complex Box Office at 1034 N. Main Street* in Salinas or  by visiting tickets.com. Ticket prices are $35 for General Admission and $75 for VIP tickets plus applicable service fees. The concert gates will open at 6:30pm at Municipal Stadium following the California Rodeo performance that afternoon. Music will start at 7:30pm; the opening act is still to be determined.

 

Jackson’s new single, “So You Don’t Have To Love Me Anymore,” is at radio now and the video for the song is airing on CMT and GAC.  You can also view the video at http://youtu.be/B7MbZJZ0biQ. The single is from the forthcoming debut album from the joint venture between ACR (Alan’s Country Records) and EMI Records Nashville.

 

*The Salinas Sports Complex Box Office will be open February 8th, 9th and 10th only to sell concert tickets then will close until 10am on April 2nd. After April 2nd, the Box Office will be open Monday-Friday from 10am to 6pm for ticket sales for the Alan Jackson Concert, California Rodeo, Professional Bull Riding and Monster Truck Jam. Concert tickets will be available online continuously starting February 8th until they sell out.

New Stadium Plans Revealed

The California Rodeo Association in conjunction with Public Recreation Unlimited announced plans to remodel Salinas Municipal Stadium. The remodel will transform the old minor league baseball stadium into a 5,000 seat soccer/ football facility. The $5 million dollar project will be funding completely with private funding. Depending on the success of fundraising, the project is scheduled to begin construction in the summer of 2012.

 

The stadium will feature a bowl design with the playing surface 11 feet below grandstand level. The field itself will be a synthetic turf surface and will be built to NCAA regulations.

 

The seating configuration will feature 3628 seats on the home side of which 744 will be stadium seating. The visitor’s side will have seating for 1400. Behind the north end zone area will be a grass area that can seat another 972 fans.

 

Other enhancements include a 2000 square foot fieldhouse, two separate entrances, a BBQ concession area, state of the art scoreboard and announcer/coaches booth.  Over 100 new parking places will be added.
